The world was falling apart right in front of our eyes. It wasn’t too long before families of front-line health workers were beginning to suffer fatigue, food shortages and evictions while they were working to save us?!! We decided to attempt to provide immediate relief as “virtual first responders” to raise money for these heroes.

Solution

1Dollar1Love is a grassroots 200+ artist collaboration to celebrate front-line workers, raise donations and promote wearing a mask, smart behavior which was being discouraged by the president. We used art, animation, photography and video to create the ongoing Mask Selfie Challenge. Donate just one dollar. Post a mask selfie. Spread the love.

Impact

We raised over $35,000 in a matter of weeks, accumulating over 1500 followers with 900+ tagged posts. Whoopie Goldberg reposted @1Dollar1Love which gained the effort 30K Likes. Ai Weiwei retweeted to his following and fellow artists around the globe. We paid for rent, clothing and groceries for over 40 families. And we’re not stopping there. The effort remains live and active.
